KRAKÓW EXPATS WÓSP COLLECTION.
The 29th Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WÓSP – Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy,) charity event culminates in the ‘Grand Finale’ which takes place on 31st January 2021, albeit, in very different circumstances due to Covid restrictions making this an extremely difficult collection this year in these challenging times.
For the first time, Krakow Expats are supporting this popular and hugely successful charity.

We will be collecting within our international and expat community, using an eCollection Box, providing an opportunity for us all to support this great initiative.

WHO BENEFITS FROM WÓSP?
The 28th WÓSP final raised a staggering 186,133,610zł, of which 3,101,339zł was raised here in Kraków.
WÓSP supports children’s medical charities. The 2021 charity collection will focus on raising money to buy specialist ENT and other medical equipment for paediatric otolaryngology and head diagnostics in paediatric care. WÓSP provide detailed accounts, on their website on how the donations are used.
What is WÓSP?
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC, Polish Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, WOŚP) is the largest, non-governmental, non-profit, charity organisation in Poland raising money for neonatal, paediatric and elderly care. (Think BBC Children in Need – Polish style).

The Grand Finale
Online collections, charity auctions (check out WÓSP on Allegro) and other fundraising events have already begun.
The Grand Finale fundraiser takes place on Sunday 31st January 2021.
In normal, non-Covd times, an army of volunteers, sometimes joined by celebrities, can be found across the country with collecting boxes, handing out the familiar red heart stickers.
The public fundraiser is organised locally, by volunteer-run collection centres, with accompanying events and concerts. The Polish Diaspora also take part wherever there is a strong Polish community across the world.
