Covid Update – Some restrictions eased for Schools (1-3), beauty, hairdressers etc.

The government relaxes the restrictions. But not everywhere

The Polish Government have today announced very limited easing of the current restrictions which were originally imposed prior to the Easter period then extended until Sunday 25th April.

From Monday 26th April, some restrictions will be removed in 11 voivodeships.

The easing of the restrictions will take place in the following voivodeships: Małopolskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Kujawsko Pomorskie, Mazowieckie, Świętokrzyskie, Lubuskie, Pomorskie, Lubelskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podkarpackie and Podlaskie.

The changes to the current restrictions are:-

  •  Education for grades 1-3 – will be restored, in the so called ‘hybrid system’,  in the In 11 voivodeships listed above, including Małopolska.
  • Beauty salons, hairdressers and beauty parlors will be re-opened,  again only in these specific 11 provinces.

The Polish Health minister, Adam Niedzielski announced:-

“Today’s number of infections is 14,000. means a decline in the disease trend . He emphasized that “the situation in hospitals was also improving, with less bed occupancy” and added emphasized that the situation in five voivodeships is the most difficult and that the applicable restrictions will be maintained there. They are the province. Śląskie, Dolnośląskie, Wielkopolskie, Łódzkie, Opolskie.

Importantly, the Health Minister added,

“These changes are a delicate step which is to define the way of functioning.  But it is still a very careful step – emphasized the head of the ministry.”

Next week, the government will announce a detailed plan to open further sectors of the economy, including hotel and gastronomic . Health Minister Niedzielski added that this plan will also refer to the issue of communion, weddings and other similar celebrations. 

In line with this spirit, which we already partially have, when it comes to the limit of practicing sports, which we have already applied in the amount of 25 people, we will definitely start from this limit – he emphasized.

Niedzielski revealed that during the May holiday (Majówki), the same rules will apply at the country’s borders as at present – there will be more border controls, and checks in hotels and guesthouses.

Next Wednesday, the announcement may refer to the possibility of lifting the requirement to wear masks in the open air .

After the May weekend, we will probably open cultural institutions – added the head of the Ministry of Health.
