Polish media and social media has been buzzing with rumours that Michael Carpenter, was in the running to be the next United States ambassador to Poland.

Carpenter, who reportedly has Polish roots, had earlier taken to Twitter to acknowledge the sudden surge in followers from Poland. Tweeting on Friday, ‘Wow, so many followers from Poland today. Witam serdecznie”

Much to the disappointment of many on Twitter, Michael Carpenter has now tweeted that the rumours are not true, however he would continue to support US Polish relations.
“I’m deeply moved by the outpouring of support, greetings and warm wishes from across Poland but the rumor that I’m a candidate to become ambassador is not true. I’ve every intention to continue my work on strengthening US-Polish relations, but not from that position.”
