Spotkanie mistrzowskie / Masters Series: Jörg Colberg | Krakow Photomonth 2016

Zapraszamy na ostatnie Spotkanie mistrzowskie Miesiąca Fotografii w Krakowie 2016. Z Jörgiem Colbergiem będzie rozmawiać Rafał Milach.

Jörg M. Colberg zamieszkały w Northampton pisarz, fotograf i nauczyciel akademicki. Utworzona przez niego w 2002 roku strona internetowa Conscientious (cphmag.com) stała się jednym z najczęściej odwiedzanych i najbardziej wpływowych blogów zajmujących się współczesną fotografią artystyczną. W 2006 roku American Photo uwzględniła go na dorocznej liście „innowatorów w zakresie fotografii”.

Oprócz zapisków umieszczanych na stronie internetowej publikuje też artykuły w wydawanych na całym świecie czasopismach dotyczących fotografii i designowi (British Journal of Photography, Creative Review, Chinese Photography Magazine, FOAM Magazine i in.). Eseje jego autorstwa znaleźć można w poświęconych fotografom monografiach.

W 2010 roku zaczął pracę na wydziale realizującym program International Limited-Residency Photography MFA Program w Hartford Art School/University of Hartford, wykładając zarazem w Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) i Rhode Island College of Design (RISD). Dwa lata później objął stanowisko adiunkta w Hartford Art School/University of Hartford.

Pierwsza książka Jörga M. Colberga zatytułowana “Understanding Photobooks: The Form and Content of the Photographic Book” ukaże się na początku 2017 roku.

We invite you to the last Masters Series meeting during Krakow Photomonth Festival. The discussion with Jörg M. Colberg will be led by Rafał Milach.

Jörg M. Colberg is a writer, photographer, and educator based in Northampton, Massachusetts. Since its inception in 2002, his website Conscientious (cphmag.com) has become one of the most widely read and influential blogs dedicated to contemporary fine-art photography. In 2006, American Photo included Jörg on its list of the year’s “photography innovators.”

In addition to publishing writing online, Jörg’s essays have been published in photography and design magazines across the world (British Journal of Photography, Creative Review, Chinese Photography Magazine, FOAM Magazine, and more) and in photographers’ monographs.

In 2010, Jörg joined the faculty of the newly formed International Limited-Residency Photography MFA Program at Hartford Art School/University of Hartford, while also teaching at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). In 2012, he became a visiting assistant professor of photography at Hartford Art School/University of Hartford.

Jörg’s first book, Understanding Photobooks: The Form and Content of the Photographic Book, will be released by Focal Press in early 2017.
